turned out tonight about 6oclock. standing room only along much of the length of the prom at rat house corner. there where even people fishing roker beach. im not sure if their was some kind of cmpetition or meet on tonight but it was choca.shuting the new pier gates cos of rough water does'nt help much especially when you've been looking forward to a bit movement on the water and hopefully some canny action. anyways, got set up to two lads, one from shields and another from durham. had a canny bit crack in between pulling up blennies and crabs. glimpsed a whitie or two and a flattie from where i was standing being pulled in. all small stuff. did a bit of reminiscing about cold weather and catching nowt while i was down there, not a lot has changed.

yes there was the british sea anglers meet on 21 lads fished spread out from ratty to cat and dog steps poor nights fishing there was a cash prize of £75 for 1st place and £30 2nd place a 9 ounces flatty won it lol and a pouting at 8 ounces 2nd

aye, i saw a flattie LANDED next to me at rat house. i presume it was that dustbin lid that took the money. it looked like the captor was keeping it going in a bucket of water. nearly worth its weight in gold.
you would have thought with the bait from 20 odd rods in the water would have tempted something a bit more respectable.
