1st time down pier in a while and my 1st cod only a 2pound cod .. but you got to start some were ha .. no pics but will be taking camera next time ... any places to get a big cod ? .. am using lug-worm i have a Ron Thompson axellerator with a slosh 30 .. post some ideas new at fishing also any tips on gear thanks :question:

Well done with the catch mate, al give ya a fiver if you can put a 2lber on one of my hooks haha.

As for getting a big cod the sea sounds a good place, using a rod and reel with a baited hook for gear is also a good bet. I am pretty sure someone said the left over lug you don't use can be fried up, though that might of been raw prawn lol please forgive me its Saturday night.

sheilds pier has not had a double yet landed that iv heard of i think its due 1 with the big tides aswell im guessing this week a pig will come from there
i got a double in the first week of march last year from dunstanburgh castle which got me in the journal, i beleive this time of year where the fish are hard to come by i think its pure luck if you catch a good one. HAPPY PIG HUNTING , bluey was the bait for my pig
