Just a quick thanks to Frasers in Whitley Bay. My GF has been getting into sea fishing over the past 18 months, just using one of my bass rods to fish with. It hasn't been an ideal set up in a number of conditions so decided that I would get her a new rod today.

Got her :

Greys GRX-S 13' FS Model Rod
Penn Surf Master 750 FS reel
Free spool of Daiwa Sensor 15lb line (1000m spool)

I had previously checked online prices, and buying from Frasers saved me £30.00 compared to the main online tackle stores with the bonus of popping into the store, having a bit chat and then, 10 minutes later seeing the look on her face finding her new set up under the tree.

Stu the lads in Frasers are great and believe me she would have no problems going in there on her own for gear. When I took up fishing last year it was terrifying going into tackle shops as in some the staff just stare at you and make it really difficult. They coped with me saying ...I need some of those clippy things etc as I didn't know what things were called just had a couple of rigs that people were kind enough to give me to copy. We had a few laughs along the way but I was always laughing with them rather than feeling that they were laughing at me ;)

Your right there pottsy. Anyway it looks like we'll be popping in again tomorrow for some bait as she wants to test out the long thing, the spinny thing and the stringy stuff ;)

Just picked up a SuperMag at Frasers for a great price.

The lads didn't even mind my failed attempts to pay with somebody elses visa card :D

Aye Frasers, the Gateshead shop's very good, still can't find the other one! Not in your face but if you need some info they've got as much time as it takes. Never been made to feel stupid in there and believe you me I'm stupidness on a stick. Good looking though so that's how I probably get away with it.

Also Reelsports is very good for selling me a fantastic rod and teaching me about spigots and great prices on some essentials.

Rutherfords as well is good once one's squeexed one's arse in there and got over the shock of the seeing the biggest dog in the world

Billy's is a good shop, haven't been there for yonks, if I can't find my way to Whitley Bay from Killingworth I may be back soon. Billy never quite gave me the abuse I felt I deserved as a mackem in his shop, and for that I hail him as a true professional.

is there not an offer on with all greys rods bought you get greys accessories rucksack' fish bag' rig wallet' and another couple of things should check it out.

reelsport in hebburn, best abuse i have ever had ,and he means it,everybody gets the same though so you know he has no favourites.lol

that was reeeeealy funny zippie ..............think ive just pissed meselfhahahahahahahahahaha dont take offence yours it was funny....!

Don't worry Terry, I think that was taken the way it was intended, nice one David lmao.

I personally think most of the shops that I have visited in the north east are nothing short of excellent. Most of the dealers can't do enough for you.

Nothing wrong with giving some praise out when it is deserved, most of us are quick to condemn when things go wrong.

Jim.

I find the fresh peeler more than compensates though, and the abuse is always from the heart (and always true which doesn't leave you with a leg to stand on)

Yeah, Reelsport gets my vote as well!

Got some money off Santa ,and its burning a hole in my pocket ,so i might have to return to Reelsport after a long while of buying tackle online - the small stuff like hooks and swivels etc , so i have 2 years backlog of Dogs abuse waiting for me when i go in - thats if i am allowed back in that is Ha Ha
