Swanhunters

Fished Swanhunters the other night on lug tipped with mackerel, caught 13 mixed Coalies and cod all between 10" and 12".
Then moved onto Derwenthaugh jetty for an hour and half and caught 3 in size flatties unbelievable onn same bait..

Fishing coast Monday night high tide so i'll post an update Tuesday.

how do you get into swan hunters mate, well done on the catch

Go past Swanhunters heading for tyne tunnel and take right into Buddle Ind Estate but dont take next left into the Ind Est keep straight ahead and you'll see the big concrete blocks at the end of the road.
Turn left at the blocks and park your car then walk through the blocks and it will take you straight down onto the jetties.

Due to the width of the Tyne here the tide does not drag as much as further up where the Tyne narrows.

I know thier breaking the jetties up during daytime but there is no fencing/barrier stopping you from getting onto the jetties. I fish in the evening and there is nobody there and I haven't been informed otherwise.

Are you not getting mixed up with the dock next to Swanhunters ? That would be the old A&P Appledore yard the place has no buildings on the site and you can walk straight into it from the road which leads down to the 'Ship in the Hole' pub ?.That follows the bend in the river leading towards the old bone yard Walker area ?

It maybe, I know there is a white washed pub to the far left when you go past the Buddle Ind est.:red: but took no notice of its name.

Its a cracking spot, as easy access its just leaving the car in a remote place, I guess its the chance you take.

its the old dry docks were you are fishing, swan hunters is to the left, i have heard the far right corner is the place to fish,never bothered myself,just what i hear of people
