As above just been talking to my grandad and he said during the miners strike he fished with them and said it was a very productive bait anyy one tried this also he said they were used raw and could be mashed up together and put in my grannies stockings

I once used mashed sheep brains as bait when fishing in the mouth of the River Rother near Rye in East Sussex. Just like your Grandad I made little round parcels using some of my Mums old stockings. I caught loads of eels, but nothing else. I didn`t even need to use a hook as the eels would get their teeth stuck in the nylon mesh of the stockings. Mind you I did get loads of sarcastic comments off my mates when they saw me getting a pair of old stockings out of my tackle box.

They eat them in France. We went and our first night dined out at a local restaurant. I had taken some French lessons which was just as well as the menu was in French and the waitress spoke no English. I struggled to translate it to be honest. Anyway I knew some dishes so I ordered the Salmon for Lynn and the Lamb(D'agneau) for me. Who knew Cerveau meant brains, I thought it was maybe a description of how the lamb was cooked!! Lynn nearly wet herself and I nearly boaked!

My granny confirmed it with me she said she got sick of drawing her tights on to go to the dance because my grandfather keept pinching them lol
