sweethope loughs

Peter Mackenzie Philips recommends a strong wrist and don\'t take your backcast beyong 12:00 o\'clock. Falkus has told me that false casting is for dummys. Expect little mending, a strong wrist and my first cast presenting the fly like a Dandelion floating down onto a bed of clingfilm. Or something a little different. I\'m taking the VFM anyway just in case.

John,

Sorry this is a bit late but our club had a cracking day there yesterday.

Ashington Kingfishers had a social pairs competition and the rod average was 10 fish for 26 rods present. Our top rod had 21 fish, whilst he and his boat partner won the pairs with 33 fish.

Most fish were caught with just sub-surface lures, being strpped. Washing line method with buzzers didn\'t catch much.

Let know how you got on.

Cheers for the info, a little late three of us fished my pal Dave caught his three fish two on leadheaded buzzers and one on the dry also he lost two other, Ell caught a small Jack pike (lol) and sadly i didnt catch had one small rattle and that was it.

fished both lakes all fish were take from the big lake wading in from the far bank. Excellent day out though looking forward until next time although i didnt catch i will put it down to testing my new rod out....LOL

john, do you know if theres any chance at sweethope of being allowed to deadbait for the pike, if you\'re not sure could you make enquiries next time you\'re there. its trout waters like those that have the potential for BIG pike.
