b**locks its august stand better chance when its calm for red guys in kelp

The only b*llocks is coming from those who don't try it!! I had 2 size fresh run just last week with only a slight colour and Northerly swell, and one of those went 5lb 14oz on the scales. As can be testified by two forum members. I'm out tonight also to try again.

Try telling these guys you dont catch them in August when its rough!!

It's early but I know of a few fresh run fish that have been caught and it's def worth a shot seeing though it's dropped off nicely. Sept and October are norm the best months! I'm out tomorrow daytime to try and snare a couple!

PORT MULGRAVE - Summer Cod Fishing

And thats just down the road!!
well said Sean, plenty sized fish coming in,More Codling getting caught now than what there was last winter, fair to say a lot of smaller fish about, but there will be some bigger ones amongst them as you have allready caught;)

I ana, a didnt say you cudnt catch cod in august, a said a would prefer a calm day deepwater mark amongst kelp for them, had better results than big seas in summer. plus you can hav fun with a float and keep busy with pollack, wrasse, coalies n mackerel if nowts biting
