Target rock

Had a few hours on the boulders to the right of the rock last night with the spinning rod. Started off on Trow rock first but the wind was in me face, so moved to Target to get some shelter. First cast i was straight into a makeral. (much perfer spinning here, then on the pier with the numpties)
Got a couple more makeral and a few launce then tried the float as me arm was starting to ache. Float on with frozen crab, Had a couple of takes but couldn't connect. finally managed a coalie, first one on a float .
A salmon or sea trout jumped about 2ft out the water, 10 metres in front of me as well. estimated about 5 - 6lb

Chris what time were you down? I can never work out if im better fishing around there with a high or low tide... Nice job on your fish too

I find it best an hour either side of high water.

Might take a wander down tomorow night after work then! Only ever fished it in winter so it should be a laugh!

Always wondered what it was like to fish down there, will have to give it a go somtime. Nice report btw, tried the float for the first time of Roker a couple of weeks ago with no joy so might have a bash down there with it to try and loose my cherry, as it were!
