We had'nt been out on the boat for what seemed like an age, but thankfully were able to get out on Saturday.

A nice flat sea greeted us as we left the lock and it stayed that way for most of the day apart from an hour about dinner time when we thought we would have to head back in, but luckaly it flattened off again.

The decision was made to try a wreck about 9 mile out that did us proud earlier on in the season and it did't disapoint us this time either.

We must have had close to a hundred cod between the two of us, all in the 4-6 lb range and the majority giving a better than usuall fight.

Me dad stuck by his green hokies most of the day and did well, while I tried allsorts to pluck a bigger cod out but could'nt beat him.
I did have a good take on a fillet of mackeral but lost it off.

Unusually we did'nt get a single ling all day, plenty mackeral about tho making it hard to get down to the wreck at times.

Had a cracking day out with good sea conditions, plenty sun and loads of codling putting up a great scrap, we kept 8 of the cod and the rest went back to grow bigger for another day (hopefully).

Few pics off me phone ;
