these are just some of the fish i caught in turkey i also got very small bass, but too small to take pic of.

I was told you need a licence to fish in turkey, but when i spoke to the life guard he said i could fish if i gave him the fish as it was a private jetty,so some of the fish i gave him i would have put them back, when he was not there i did put them back.

This fish is a balloon fish and very poisonous the locals told me not to touch it,it was caught at distance on raw chicken.looks like a parrot fish to me.

Fishing in turkey was a new experience for me,and would love to do it again.

One day i was fishing with the life guard and i had 3 fish in 3 casts and one was about 4lb but it was lost on the lift this happened three times one after another.

Fishing at distance can produce very large fish all of which i lost, when these fish were hooked it was like hooking a jumbo jet and the line broke every time. The wifes rod ended up in the water off a fish, i did get it back after a tourist dived in for it, once again the line was snapped

Anyone going to turkey to fish i advise that you take heavy line or wire if you intend fishing at distance, float fishing for small bass is great but a couple of times i hooked a big fish and the line snapped.

In total me and the wife had over 100 fish in 12 days and lost about 10.

raw chicken top bait, but take some thread.

Looks like you had a great time mate. I am off to Bulgaria on Monday and packing the tele rod in the case. Not sure what the fishing will be like but hoping for mullet and bass? Interesting about the raw chicken! Did you catch the mullet on bread? :)

I line i was using was only 8lb,which is great for float fishing, but fishing at distance can produce very large fish.

some of the locals had what looked like string on the hook trace and the local tackle shops sold wire traces.

good luck in cyprus.

Good report mate and some different fish it's always nice to try something you wouldn't try here when your on holiday

That's a good report with some very nice mullet, thanks for sharing.

I had a laugh when I saw that the best bait to use in "Turkey" was "chicken"

Regards Ian

Great report Danny, where in Turkey were you? I've been to Icmeler a few times, and always wondered what was out there.
