me and bairn fished there today like we normally do on a sunday then hordes of young lads came down with rubber dingies ad had a right old time swimming round . not very good when your trying to fish . i think a private lake is in order intead of a public area

I was a member of SFAC for quite a few years.
This time of year the best time to fish Silky is from the crack of dawn till about 9am.
You will catch more fish and you don,t get pestered by the younguns and such.

I was a member at Silksworth in 2009 and 2010, Not had a problem at all. All the walkers seem friendly and most stop for a chat.
Personally the best time for carp is after setting up which used to be around 6am. Although last time all runs were after 1pm, but maybe that was the tactical changes.
The fishing to me has always been hit and miss, depends where the fish are and if they are feeding.
