the beacons ?

You can fish most of the front and yes tackle losses can be high especially when you are almost at your feet you get stuck on the ledge as it's straight into deep water.
just be very aware of any big sea running on a building tide like now can wash right over it and there is no where to get out of the way as its pretty much the same level so 2-3 foot swells are ok on all but the biggest tides.
You can fish from the shelves at the north end casting 11 o'clock looking out to sea or fish the south end of the beacons looking south and standing about 70 yards from beach on the south edge of the beacons cast about 50-60 yards south into the Scarborough hole.
I hope this helps you it's one of my favourite marks.
Oh it is also very very slippery underfoot until you get close to the edge then the sandstone is pretty clear of algae and better grip.

South end low water north end high water

your spot on I like to fish the north corner find its always best on the flood you can fish it all the way up there are spots where it can get snaggy but a decent cast will put you onto cleaner ground I prefer just a short chuck into the kelp and gullies

Fir me the best spot is on the higher ledges on the north corner, fishing the tide up at night, into the wide gully. Never lose too much stuff there and have a good catch rate, unlike south beacons which is more tackle hungry.

Cheers lads. Just trying to find somewhere decent to gan for a change me and me pal no matter what always end up on newbiggin bay and can be dissapointin when its flat.

Tight lines lee

Fairy rocks is right on the corner isn't it mate? If so, just to the south of there. Walking along to the end of the golf course till you get what is like a rock slope down to the ledges, a couple of which have a decent height that gives you a bit more protection even on the bigger swells.

Didn't help me last Friday like when it was way too rough and I gave up after one cast. Glad I did as had an ok session at Newbiggin Bay on Saturday night instead.
