Earlyish and cold start this morning, myself and graham on board. Strongish breeze as expected but the direction and speed of the drift didn't do much for the fishing early on.
First stop near the piers resulted in a small codling and a scotchie. On to a few more wrecks but nothing doing due to the drift speed.
Plan B was put in to action and a trip to the can was next. We had codling from the off, usually a couple at a time then nothing for 15 minutes. Nothing big but a few keepers and better than nowt! Graham was getting the majority of the fish while I lost sinkers!
First codling caught on a Keith B lead head!

We chipped away at the can and caught around 25 codling, I eventually managed a few while graham was filleting!
We were just about to head in when the wind dropped and the sea flattened so it was off to a few close in wrecks, first one produced a pollock for graham then the 2nd one had a few cod and whiting, again nothing big but good sport with virtually a fish a drop.

First signs of the bait fish we are all waiting for from a cods mouth??

All in all not the easiest days fishing but still enjoyable. Pity the weather didn't settle earlier. Graham tried for mackerel a few times but nothing.
