After a good monitor of the weather all week we pencilled in Sundy morning for a quick run off to make sure everything was good to go after the winter and services etc.
Down to the piers for just before ten and there was a bit if chop but once clear of the piers a lovely fish able slow swell with almost no wind. The water was surprisingly clear once we were passed the two mile mark.
Off to the first wreck and there was a boat coming off it, the only boat we saw all day, nothing there as was the case on the other five wrecks we tried, not a touch! The drift speed was spot on but no one told the fish! The wind started to increase around dinner time and made it bloody cold!

It really was a day for giving up tiding a go but we had to check the wrecks just in case!
We couldn't even wash the boat down when we got back to the marina as the water in the hose had frozen, a sure indication that it was too cold for boat fishing!!!
Back to graft for me on Tuesday for eight weeks so don't catch too many! Looking forward to all the reports once the weather heats up a bit.

Graham.

I was out today, canny sea on now and so bloody cold with that wind...sure the weather will improve soon and the fish will show up.

Aye lads, well done to yous all for making the push, a shame you were not rewarded with a few fish ....... but ... it keeps us keen and proves it's not just a case of turning up and a guaranteed catch. Enjoy your graft Graham, there may be a few left for you when you get back :)

Aye it was freezing yesterday :(, shame about no fish showing but at least the boat got a run out :) Hopefully it will be better when you get back from graft...:)

Loads of time yet, when you get back the mackerel will be jumping out the water and the spring run of cod will be in full flow :)

It was so cold today on the boat it never made for a "nice day out" even if the sea was flat.....maybe if the cod had been taken each drift it may of warmed things up abit.

Sure i will see the CPQ out at sea soon and i am sure we will all be doing reports so you get get a good feel of things before you return :)

At least u got out and give it a try so well done, if we don't get these reports then we wouldn't know how the fishings going! Not b long though and there'll b plenty positive reports
