well after debating where to go and when to go all weekend i finally got my gear in the cxar and headed for the huegh got there for around and about 2is not too sure on the time as my phone was left at home anyway i was greeted with a nice swell some nice colour and really light wind so i got over the 2 fences and half way along the pier and decided to go no furtheras it looked perfect at this time fishing was slow to start with using crab rag mussel and the odd bit of razor but the bloke fishing beside me had a couple undersized fish before i started getting my first bitesafter about 2hours of weed and fruitless bites i finally had my first fish altho it was an undersized codling still a start by about 6pm the weed had settled and the bites on the crab started to become more frequent resulting in undersized codling i thought enough is enough bumped up my hooksize to a 3/0 and started tipping rag with crab on a clip down nothing my first cast but on the second cast i decided to have a quick pee when i noticed out the corner of my eye the rod tip bouncing and the rod about out of the stand i picked it up caught up with the fish i knew that it was going to be something decent for this time of year got it to the side of the pier went to lift it up and the snap my hooklength snapped after turning the air blue and fitting a new snood i was into a couple more fish but only undersized had a total of 8 undersized codling and 4 colies packed up at 1020pm and head home rather staisfied
