the SAFC gloating thread

cant see the KK/shearer thing happening or even working for them,mark hughes might take the job,and seeing as he will be given a better budget for the transfer window than he had at blackburn maybe he can help NUFC get out of the rut they are in
 
I think he's gotta go for KK/Shearer as the fans choice, anyone else would come in as second choice to rednapp and would soon encounter the same treatment as BFS after a couple of dodgy results.

Good to hear ,and would expect it to be more than 26 (some of this figure is with work though:o:o)

and i also managed to NOT win the fur and feather :D:D:D

but it was a laugh


And my choice would be Houilier - NOT KK & Shearer ,but i can see why they would get it - lets face it ,this season is finished ,so they can jig the squad how they want it ,then they will get at least one full season next year ,so it isnt as mad as it sounds

All north east teams crap so none of us can be cock of the hoot really this season can we.

i work in a mixed office of fans and banta good but bottom line we all poop.

Aye I think not.....You forget that Man Utd are the second most supported team in the North East (after Sunderland), and the Berwick supporters branch run buses to Old Trafford for every home game!

Every one has a reason to support their club, mine was seeing replays of the likes of Charlton and Best in the early 70's (my era) and the new breed of Robson, McQueen and Albiston in the early eighties (when I began to take an interest in having a team although I did have a soft spot for Berwick Rangers as my local team).....


The Toon seemed to find 35,000 fans after they were promoted back to the top flight....maybe that's why you support your team BriH?

I was at St james when we were 1 game away from the old 3rd division.. along with 37,000 others....

Mind you we have only been promoted back to the top flight the once, then again we've only needed to be promoted back the once as well :D

as for sunderland being the most supported team in the north east...

lets count the empty seats at the stadium of shi, sorry, light shall we!

had an interesting discussion with a mate yesterday about sunderland, wondering how different things might of been for em, if they'd got rid of Bob Murray when Peter Reid was still there

Thats fair enough mate you's done well to keep it that low. But we managed to beat Everton 2-1. Doesn't really tell you much does it?

Houllier for the Toon now that the french FA have cleared it.

These 'fans' just need to look at houllier's club record to realise that he is clearly the best equipped for the job. He has won titles at PSG, done the Treble at Liverpool (at a time when they were neck and neck with us) and won the french title with Lyon for the past 2 seasons, steering them into the latter stages of the Champions league also. These are the same fans that bawked at the idea of bringing Erikksson in in the summer. Instead of looking at the guys club history they go by what the Sun and Mirror says about him. Look at Man City now.

Don't get me wrong tho, im not one of these 'holyier than you' supporters who slate parts of the toon army for having questionable opinions on the club. If you spend thousands a year travelling the country to watch newcastle you can say what you want. I was at Wigan on boxing day and didn't agree with some of the chanting but they are the same supporters that do us proud week in and week out making us the best away supporters in the league. Like the masses I wouldn't be apposed to seeing a Shearer/KK combo, in fact when Sam went i said Al was the way forward as there was no other alternative..at the time. Now Houllier has been given permission to talk, i can't see past him.
 
with all these names being linked and then 'apparently' turning down the job it's all starting to sound like the England set up with Scholari. I personally think a character like Martin Jol would be the perfect candidate. Houllier may not be able to take control of the indiscipline of some of the players, although i think he is a great manager. Horrendous to see Benitez getting shafted now at Houlliers old club.
