Been useing this bait for quite a few years now had some massive hauls of cod uptiding with it and i won some big shore fishing matches with it it was a secret its now on youtube my old mate dave barham from boat fishing monthly put it up he was fishing with me last week in the uptiding festival.

Just been watching the you tube video of secret bait and paul clearly states that CART uses the eggs off a female crab
But it is illegal to land female crabs with eggs on so were do you get these eggs from legally
Its bewildering what you have to do to catch a fish and the magazine is promoting it???????????

I think it's in a gauze and frozen into the sock so to speak.

I've looked into it and there are very different quality cart for sale. Much of it is poor quality, lots of water and crap mixed in to make it go further.

Apparently it's been around for years and is drifting back into fashion.

I suppose the only way to ensure good quality is to make your own.


I read on one site it only lasts 20 minutes in the water before you need to re bait, so can work out expensive.

Here is how I get my cart shaped I put the insides of the edible crabs into a tray then freeze once froozen I cut into blocks then put them into some tights and tie the ends up job done here is a pic of a tray froozen

I put all in apart from lungs aka dead man's fingers then leave it in tub over night so excess water comes to the top then drain nd freeze

I have had some tremendous results with cart from the shore allways seem best after a good blow a nice fresh yellowtail of frozen black rapped round the cart makes a perfect combination i have been useing it for over 10 years love the stuff.
