the walkway 25/9/11 resident kicks off

I fished the walkway friday night, my mate was also fishing, guy came out of his house and threatened to knock him out for parking on the estate. A major row started and the guy said he was going to call someone to come down and sort hime out, we were there till 10.00pm no one turned up. This rersidents house was away from the steps down to the walkway and lived no were near were my mate had parked. My mate was not blocking anyone. I don't normally park on the estate but had no choice friday as I could not get parked anywhere else. I parked under the archway, no other cars where parked there. P***k who threatened my mate then moved his wifes car of his drive and parked exactly opposite me so the road was blocked. Another resident came and asked if I would move my car back as a lady could not get to her house. I explained there was no other cars there when I parked, he acknolwedged the guy is just doing it to cause trouble, he was a nice guy and lives alot closer to the walkway. just goes to prove not all residents are out to cause trouble.

my mate was parked there the thing is whats he goona do when the police have there match there as ive seen many times down there lets hope he starts with them then they will see what we put up with total idiots l would'nt mind but he started with my mate who works as a doorman l thought he was gonna crack him one glad he did'nt that would of been just what he wanted

your right mate it one particular bloke who is causing all the aggro he has room for 2cars outside house and expects a third for parking, i think its
for his son who is also a A******* i think the way to go is get the police involved and explain the situation that most fisherman are responsible and park sensibly and it is this one particular resident who is going out of his way to cause trouble , because before long theres gonne be one angry angler who will not put up with this blokes antics and the unfortunate angler will only get himself in trouble and we all dont want that as it will reflect on all anglers just like we all are blamed for all the rubbish and bad parking that go on, so it s down to all anglers to behave in a resonsible way and give this A******* no grounds to blame us
Spot on matey :D

It would be amusing to arrange a comp on the Walkway and see how many NESA members could fit on. All taking their cars of course:eek:

I was there on saturday night the fishing was quiet and it was heaving with anglers and we barely got parked at 9pm
Yet it got to about 11pm and a van pulled up it was 2 members from south tyneside council
Apparently on of the residents complained about noise and the council was threatening with the police

As someone who hasn't fished the Walkway but have considered going this winter, this stuff does put me off a bit. Show restraint and rise above, lads. Good on all of yous who haven't risen to the provocation yet.

I recently, stupidly, left a used rig on my tackle box at Tynemouth Beach and had a very awkward few minutes apologising profusely as a dog owner extracted my size 3/0 pennell from her labrador's mouth. My fault. Learned something. It's easy to give anglers a bad name.
Tight lines all.

I think this guy could do with a good battering but if someone that fishes there done it. I would only re-enforce the point he it trying to make. He will become a martyr and very quickly embellish the story. Everyone knows a person or two like that. So all I can say is grin and bear it. Not like anyone is going to do anything about it.

so the police are asking the anglers not to park on the estate, and not forbidding them, that tells me people have the right park their cars there (of which i already know from past goings on ) and this ********** is breaking the law by incitIng trouble with his stupid antics by GOADING THE ANGLERS into doing somrthing stupid so angling gets stopped, so if we all band together and not rise to this ********* stupid behaviour we shall have the last laugh over him

Tell him that you have paid your road tax and are not causing any obstruction so you are entitled to park there, try to keep calm and remain polite, if the resident still insists he has been wronged then invite him to call the police/or better you do it the matter will soon be sorted hopefully once and for all.

Would be nice mate but I doubt it, it's took over the whole guys life and it's all he thinks about 24/7 I reckon.
