The Walkway

Fished the walkway with our Lenny Monday morning and this morning both 8am - 1pm sessions, we caught plenty of small codling between 9"-12" but no keepers. We also caught a Dab each and I had 1 sized whiting on Monday (where they gone this year) I also had the 1 flounder their today, so we both caught on both sessions but no fish to shout about, our Lenny did catch a 2lb lobster though on Monday.

A few species for me to add to my species list at least though. :) Isn't it funny how we all become photographers while out fishing haha, seen a gunner ship leaving the Tyne on Monday thought that was cool.

Cheers lads, small stuff is better than nowt I must admit the knocks keep ya interested like. @Davey yes mate I can't wait for the summer fishing again with the lure rod. @Mark LOL yeah the bairn got me it for my birthday last year, got to say its better than the soft tape measure haha.

@Toonboy yes mate it was nice, although not sure that Lenny liked that much but he did say the claw was nicer than the tail. It was bang on 2lb on the fish scales at home so a cracking catch for the lad and the first time he's tried lobster, he normally gives them away.

The ship was HMS Defender, one of the navy's new type 45 Destroyers so that was a cool £1 billion pounds worth of kit sailing by you and the bairn:eek: I hope no-one thought of casting any leads in her general direction at that price...

Well done to you and the bairn for bagging a few, beats sitting in the house any day (or being at work for that matter :( )

I hate to think of the repercussions if he had of chucked a lead at it like:D:D

Yes one of 2 in service at the moment, some bit of kit the T45 stealth ship. We dont have a large navy now but the gear we have is top notch...company i work for makes them ha

Cracking lobby as well, shame it lost one claw as best part :)

Canny session there Pete and it's nice to see you out with the lad again. Good looking lobster that - I have only ever caught one that size and strangely it had only one claw too. Maybe they were related :D

LOL cheers lads, yeah Mike they reckon lobsters throw a claw sometimes as a defense mechanism. A bloke I was talking to when I was leaving with our lobster said he had 1 the week before, again with 1 claw, maybe they were triplets haha.:D
