Hi all, this is my first post and wish it was on a better note but only been in Hartlepool Marina for about six weeks now and for the first two weeks we were on a temperary mooring beside the trawlers. Went down to check on the boat and apart from all the bird sh!t on it some theiving pykey had been on and taken two reels off the rods, a brand new ABU 7000(red) and a nearly new SL30. They were on the rods with the line all set up, whoever took them snipped the line, took the reels and buttoned the cover back up as they got off. We had a VHF, Fishfinder and Chart plotter and they left them. We are on our proper mooring now and all seems well but we take every thing off now to be on the safe side. With locked gates we thought it would be o.k. to leave stuff on but there is obvously some theifs about who must have a boats or access. I know it's a long shot but if anyone as been offered any lately a post or pm would be gratefull, cheers.

I know now mate, we moved our boat from sunderland marina because of the new fee's getting too much, but we did'nt have a thing touched in the 4 years we were there. It just pi$$ed us off as it happened in the first 2 weeks. They'll be lucky if they get away with a few weights now as we take everything off.

Mines down on the west pontoon, had a few incidents over the last few years.
Things being stolen and a few drunk chavs climbed onto the pontoon, picked my boat to have a few more beers, chucked some stuff overboard and then tried to untie it. The marina staff seen it happening on camera's, so rang the police and left it to them to sort out, cheers, nowt was done. Was a barstuard getting the vandal grease of the white gel coat aswell.

Had loads of gull sheehite on the boat lately aswell, seems to be covered on the corner of the pontoon around my boat and the few next to mine.

Its cheapish mooring compared to some of the other places though.

Your right about that corner of the west pontoon mate, i think we're your new neighbour down there, the predator with the blue/white(sh!t) cover on it. there is none any where else on the west pontoon bar our corner. When we got our mooring they were saying the cameras we manned all the time but when we went and told them about the reels going missing they showed us the camera and it was fixed 24/7 on this big old heap of crap wooden boat coz it had'nt been repaired properly and was slowly leaking. Might see you down there some time mate, Liam..

Welcome mate, you must be our new neighbour. Best off not leaving anything on the boat, especially the electric's, we've even had stuff like brushes and landing net taken. Not much gets left on ours now.

On a better note, hope to see you about, your welcome to tag along when we're out and check some marks out. Although we don't usually get out much untill about april.

Cheers
Martin.

i was in the yacht club had my boat in there .but things still went missing from it .it has a electric fence round top of fence .boat next to me had his prop nicked shows how many thieving bas.....rds are in these clubs .there was no way a outsider could have done it at all.i took my boat out and put it in my own lock up.was handy leaving it there you were straight in to the water and has a great ramp and winch if needed .

We dont leave anything on now mate. I'm sure we'll see you down there sometime. We try and get out as much as we can when the weather is better. All the best lads, Liam..

the west pontoons are about 590 for the year

Yes mate we'll see you down there sometime mate. I think that was what we paid aswell mate (about £590) for a 16ft boat, less than half the price of roker marina. not sure what the bigger pontoons are. ATB.

now then sean - how are you mate. did you manage to get home over the xmas period or are you still away.

all the best
jason

I seen your boat on sunday and it was the same as last week so thought it would be o.k. If i see it with water on badly i'll give you a shout or bail it out if it looks to bad mate, but like i say it had'nt changed since the last time . we had a poor year aswell, especially compered to the year before. If we got more fish i would'nt need to spend a fortune going up to oban every couple of months( although it is a cracking place).
Liam..
