Right i have just bought a 1987 22ft, Class Teal Spearfisher 22 boat with build in D engine and once i do some work on it (project) then i will be after keeping it either in the Tyne or the Wear.

Only paid £2700 for it so dont really want to pay over £1000 each year on docking fees but i might not have a choice.

I know whats the best all rounder but what about prices per ft or metre?

FOR ANY DOCKING AREAS IN THE TYNE OR WEAR?

South Shields Boat Angling Club, just past the Seamanship Centre. Don't think there is a waiting list, just depends if there's a mooring available.

They expect your crew to join the club as well, as far as I know it's about £100 for crew members.

I think you are expected to "muck in" with mooring maintenance etc. as well.

You get use of the club house (locker etc), there's a secure yard for working on ya boat and a crane for lifting in & out.

Bert, Stephen or Sless might be able to give you more info.

No not yet Norman, dont have a digi cam.

Its not that bad really, just needs engine looking at, new side window fitted, paint, new anti slip matt down, cabin(ish) cleaned down, GPS fitted, spare engine (outboard) fitted new fenders and a bit of saftey equipment.

Had it ticking over in dry dock for 15mins and seemed fine once i changed the fuel filter.

sounds very expensive allready

I think it will cost about 2k to do her up and get the equipment.I have already thought that it might have been best to just buy a newer boat :) but will see how it goes. really it is just something for me to do over the winter months as i dont often fish now during the winter.

Norman it is called Wild Child with a picture of someone riding a wale lol

Wont be keeping the name but that will be the last thing i will be doing to her.The boat has been well used but at least it has not been sitting in dry dock for years rusting away.

Its going to be a long winter lol

I return everything now other than the amckerel i use for bait..maybe lingabingbing :)

I will think about the name over the winter but it will prob have something to do with my surname that a choose.

Been unable to find much info about the SSBAC.Do they have a webside? if not anyone know where i can get some info other than pester people on here :)

So far am looking at £1150 for the R.Q
£1300 for Sunderland
£547 for Sunderland chain berth
£300 (i think) for SSBAC
£932 for Blyth berth

Richie, I think the chairman / secretary ?? is called Ray Gray, ya best bet would be to have a drive down there on a saturday morning.

Well i never made it down today, got drawn to the pier for a few hours fishing...glad i did in the end..macky,coalie and sandeel like mad all 3hrs :)

Anyway still no further forward with the docking.

Not touched the boat all weekend so its still not moving along, got 7 months anyway now really so no rush.

:) 7 month rich, thats just till the official marina season starts but you can join in anytime, dont have to wait for April ...... there`s fish there all year round, different fish in different numbers but something always to have a go at.....
go on get stuck in and get it done , you`ll be glad you did when that Xmas double comes over the side.
