i have noticed more rubbish and people fishing for mackrel on roker in the summer months than on sheilds pier but i think its mainly because sheilds pier is a mile long and roker is less of a walk for people to the end. plus roker has no rubbish bins for their empty feather packets ect where sheilds has them along the length of the pier if they wish to use them to be honest if the piers were the same the situation would be the same

Somebody just poked a wasps nestI don't normally get involved with this sort of thread but it seems like Andy was actually saying what everyone agrees with. I didn't actually see him make any disrespectful remarks regarding any members, well established or not. Perhaps you are taking the "hardcore fisherman" literal rather than in the sarcastic manner in which it seems to be.
Most importantly every person has a right to be on this forum and not to have insults with "mad" faces after them. Telling someone to find another site because he made a generalised comment about divs with daylights isn't what a community based forum is about.
He was only referring to Sunderland because of the fact the pier is a prime location for such actions unbecoming a lady.....
In my opinion anyway.

Me and gary were on blyth pier 2-3 weeks back there was a few mackerel coming in with plenty of big coalies
The pier was littered with rubbish but i will add that there was no young lads (charvers) wearying tracksuits and drinking cheap cider smoking allsorts it was actually GROWN MEN !! Leaving cans of lager line and coalies allover the place

Thanks snagged, wasn't directing it at anyone at all just purely stating my thoughts on the disgrace mess made last year which unfortunately gives us sea anglers a bad name! But If anyone takes any offence to this then I apologise but I am allowed I express my own opinion on an open forum arnt I??

That will probably be right Andy m8 as i have seen it done myself as some of these that think there fishermen drinking and abusing the area put us proper anglers in a bit of a prodictament dont they as they could/nt care less so shame on them m8.

For you information pal im not a chav and i think that you should learn to read as i totally agreed with your coment on the chavs and mess. I think it is this comment that offended some of our sunderland lads: Anyone living in Sunderland should get there summer supply of beer n backy now as the shops will no longer have enough stock to accommodate the hardcore fisherman with their daily requirements!
Now as ya say youve expressed your opinion so have I. Thats it as far as im concerned as previously stated Im not getting drawn into petty little arguments. cheers heeew !!!

Never read this thread for a couple of days and just read the lot start to finish. Im not getting involved with calling people chavs cos although they do leave a mess, im sure non-chavvy people have also left mess at some fishing marks over the years either intentionally or not. But i do have a couple of questions tho......
1- Are the macky in or not cos this thread is titled "THERE IN!!!"?
2- Where is this witches chin mark?

I'm lost with all this slanging.
Last time I looked this was supposed to be a fishing forum, where supposedly like-minded folks get together and discuss a common interest, swap ideas and information, learn from one another, buy and sell and so on.
There is no mileage in anyone muck slinging and no mileage in anyone trying to deliberately incite a response from others.
Take the slanging out of this thread and we'd be down to less than a page instead of 4, and we'd be reading relevant stuff to boot.

Leisure time isn't supposed to be this much hard work to wade through
