In no particular order.....................

The 10k target reached for the RNLI

The adoption of Robs suggestion of using the NESA Winter shore comps to provide angling equipment / tuition to homes for \"looked after\" children

A new website for NESA - One which fit sin with the 21st Century and is a WEBSITE - NOT just a forum

Membership of NESA to continue increase year on year with a %age of members posting to be around the 80% mark.

NESA to continue and improve its\' stance on the conservation and maintenance of the whole marine environment.

More young people joining NESA

More women joining NESA

A continuation of the annual boat comps for local (N.E) RNLI stations

A continuation of the NESA Tyne Challenge trophy Competitions - the trophy\'s there - so why shouldn\'t it..........just needs an organiser

A long run of success for the South Team in the Tyne Challenge Trophy Comps............it looks good on Sless\'s mantlepiece, don\'t you think ;)

BUT MORE THAN ALL OF THE ABOVE............................................................NESA to continue to be the catalyst for the founding of great friendships amongst those who have a great love of sea angling.

The site itself will be changing very soon. I\'ve been working closely with a new Content Management System and have implemented it on other sites. There have been a few bugs that have been ironed out along the way, which is why this site didn\'t get it straight away. I\'ve not been involved with NESA much and to trial software, you need to be on it daily!

That said, the system was installed on http://www.sacn.org.uk at the end of last week. The idea was that Leon, who oversees SACN, could add articles himself instead of sending them to me. After a quick phone chat with my one and only employee, he was up and running within half an hour! Just what we wanted :)

Next on the list, I\'m afraid, will be the forums (old timers will be groaning now!).

Unfortunately, this software became obsolete around about the same day we installed it. Classic case of wrong product at the wrong time. This means that there are no upgrades; that won\'t bother many, as you\'re comfortable with it, but it also means that if it ever breaks, there is no support whatsoever. Not a good situation to be in.

There appears to be a convertor which *should* keep all the accounts and posts - it\'s always risky when you actually do these things. The software I reckon we need is VBulletin. Some of you will know it from World Sea Fishing and I\'ve also installed it on a friend\'s site at http://www.northwestcarp.co.uk/forums/index.php

I\'ll let everyone know well in advance, though, as PM\'s will need to be printed and kept.

Actually, I better shut up now before people think I\'m going to wreck the place.

I\'ll be back soon.... :)

WHOOO-HOOO.......a new site for NESA :D

The announcement couldn\'t have come at a more opportune or appropriate time, Elton ;)

To be honest, I\'d have preferred to delay the announcement a bit. The template design was actually completed (I\'ve just checked my emails) on May 16th! It\'s an ongoing issue with the mailing list script that has delayed it. That issue has carried on right up until, and including, today :(

I\'m told that if they can\'t fix it this time, they will work on a fix around it. We\'ll see LOL

Elton

Tony, I agree with what you say. If I can get myself sorted with a new job then I can look at maybe organising the Tyne Challenge Trophy.
Elton, looking forward to the future and the new site.

Thankyou Mike.

The main thing is that you DO get yourself sorted with a new job, m8 - no worries about the NvS comp..........what does THAT count for, REALLY????

TC back with his \"admin\", thats what i would like to see and i am sure i speak for the majority?? after all without TC, NESA would NOT be how it is today

Yep, Sless totally agree.......................I\'m sure we\'ll stick it up \'em next time, too.............especially as the South Team will be playing a home fixture ;)
