Sea Fishing
Thurso - Conger from harbour walls, and rock fishing. Cod, coalfish, conger, dogfish, haddock, ling, pollack, spurdog, plaice, wrasse, mackerel, dabs, whiting, rays, halibut, porbeagle shark. Thurso Bay and Dunnet head are sheltered areas. Baits - mussel and lugworm at lower water.

Wick - Mainly rock fishing for cod, conger, haddock, mackerel, pollack, saithe, and flatfish. Porbeagle shark off Caithness, and great halibut fishing. Good points are: Longberry, Broadhaven, Sandigoe and Helman Head. Very Good cod fishing off Noss Head. Best months: June to Sept.

it is great fun up here with alsorts of venues within spitting distance of each other.
go from pier to rock to beach to rock to cliff all in the space of 2 miles ;)
 
Don\'t know about there being less species but if its anything like the west coast, there\'ll be tons of whatever species are around
 
I deffinately was joking. That sound like fantastic fishing Paula. I would love to have a bash at the halibut (both catching and eating).
 
Well that list missed off 1 fish,which i never what to catch again in my life! A \'Granny Fish\'. There the most ugliest fish ive ever seen in my life.I caught it while i had a nest,and was aout 10ft into water lol,if you every catch one and its got a 1/o hook with barbs on it,its mine ;).
