I could throw a stone on that beach from where I live. It's not exactly longsands.

I think theres a few that need to take up a different hobby if they don't like seeing filleted fish!

they wer`nt filleted, they were winged. read the threads again m8, we`re on about the size of th fish, and the way it was discarded, note there were no other fish on the beech. !

You put it back in the river dead.

Did you want the Trawler to Discard the dead Thornie back out to sea when it legally could have been put to good use.

I hate Trawlers as much as anyone BUT they've done nothing wrong.

cos all the other fish have a size limet and they know rays dont so thay dump the other fish cos they are under size and keep the rays to sell cos theres no mls set.

As I've already said, thornies survive well in nets so your " already dead" argument is fragile to sat the least.
The boat owner has done no wrong as in breaking the law, but that dosent mean its right to process juvinile fish for food.
All IM saying is we need to find s better way!

As an aside....would the commercial vessels be very happy if the lads who own a few pots were keeping undersize lobsters.....NO thought not!

And I am quite sure that they'd be prosecuted also.

If there is an MLS it should be adhered to and if there isn't an MLS for thornbacks, then I'm damn sure it should be looked at!
