Got up early 5-45am,
well, for me it's early and headed out from Cullercoats on a mirror calm sea, to a wreck in 100 ft of water. Instead of bait fishing it, I tried a medium size lure and 3 hokia's above it, just as the wreck was starting to show on the sounder, my rod pulled firmly down with a nice bit of weight to it. I started pumping it up, but it fought back taking line. After a couple of minutes there was two nice fish on the surface, the best one 12lb and the other 6lb.
What a start. A couple more drifts, and two more fish both about 4lb then it went quiet as the tide slackened right off.
Decided to go on the inside of the yellow can and bait fish. 3 more fish for the pot. Back in for 10am and a happy bunny.:red: A few pics below.
