In my experience Andy, clogged jets normally mean a new generator (Reason why mine are spares or repair)

I now do the BriH solution (headlight and flask)

S/Shields lads\' unite :D

fu*k all wrong with the colman range in my eyes only part ive had to replace is globe(glass) 1 in 13 year regular maintanace cleaning of jets ect works fine and gives canny bit heat off to cooky

I had the dual fuel, double mantle one........loved it at 1st - soon grew to loath it, though. More bother than it was worth.
Got a battery powered lantern to replace it.........never use that now, either - just rely on my headtorches.
If you wanna fish in the light - go during the day as lanterns can be very distracting, annoying and downright dangerous to other anglers around you.
Mind you - if you\'re seting out to be intentionally \"distracting\" and \"annoying\"........way to go ! Why not take a radio along with you too !!

I use the northstar easy to run and use must have a good un, but only got it for to warm my hands in the coldest days or nights

HA HA, so good u posted twice eh Rhys, once for each, LOL. That was very nice of you Rob

I think its interesting how the tackle market progresses & we change the way we think about our gear too.
When I had my twin mantle lamp it was cool (until I lit it) ;) but reading the replies here & especially TC\'s & Daveyreds I think that headlamps now are aimed at doin the lot for us and clothing is aimed at keeping us warmer so the need for petroleum based lamps are gan out of fashion.
Cold hands are a part of fishing unfortunately so gan 4 the heat based product might be better aimed at a stove where we can bake Cod, LOL (yeah right) :P

nice post andy :D

i want one personally as when i was a fence erector my hands are now almost fooked with arthritis and i dont want to damage them any further the cold sets in bad and when they thaw out they go really hard almost feel like they are gonna burst :(

As for intentionally \"distracting\" and \"annoying with a reflector fitted the light will not disturb most anglers as the lamp willbe on the ground

headlamps would be more dangerous with heads turning blinding people :casstet:

its like a street light if its always on you dont think about it but if a car come and flashed its lights in your face you would know about it

think about it ;) ;)

Sless they are not that bad mate Especially if you have a reflector on them, anyway i think they are sh!t brightness wise you couldnt blind a blind man with the one i had. Only reason i used one before was i had my rod taped with that reflective tape and it was brill to see when you had bites, now i have a myobelt5 it lasts that long i can just sit with it on all nite watching the reflective tape NOT nodding all over lol

saw a fella a few years ago hoy his lamp off the pier at whitby followed by a loud shout ,\"dont come back yer b*****d\"
lmho :D

What im going to do with mine is wrap some tin foil around but just leave enough light through/beam to be usefull and safe not to blind others so it acts just like a torch rather than an all around light

when i use my colman its intended to light me and baiting area not whole beach i have a beach shelter also only use both when fishing for prelonged hours tide in/then out
