got the new rod today and its a very tight fit putting it together, have to twist the rod loads to get it apart, does anyone put anything on the join to help it along
peter

id say use grease thats what a rod builder told me to use on my ttr, youll find using candle wax will make it tighter thanks garry

use what century recommend the stuff is called ptfe spray from halfords i use on my rods now no problems at all it is about £3.50 a tin will last for ages

I had the same problem with my Tip Tornado Match. It actually got stuck together. Thoroughly cleaned joint then a little grease and seams great now

PTFE all the way - spray a bit on the male section of the joint & leave to dry then wipe off the excess with a bit of kitchen paper.

Gary :)

check the century web site there is a link directly to this involving a babies bottle brush and ptfe spray !!!!! do not use sand paper or wet and dry or you will fcuk it up

to cure a tight fit ie a join were male does not go in far enough. below works if it dosnt work first time keep repeating it took me four goes but joint is now perfect.

clean male/female with methalated spirits apply grease to joint push in and turn .

as i say if male does not go in far enough for your liking repeat process.
