having worked for virgin media in the past during the tivo launch era. as far as i remember the tivo is on hire its not owned by individuals. it needs its own dedicated 10mb line and needs sufficient cable power to function. if u have virgin and want one why not ring retentions (disconnections) and ask for a free upgrade or give ur notice. (takes 30 days) u can always cancel ur notice last minute.

i wanted two tivo boxes one down the other on bedroom i was told i would have to pay £45 conection charge when the worked the cost they said it was cheaper cancel my contract and start again i did and it worked out £15 month cheaper after 18 month its still cheaper than my daughters xl package
