Well what do we do now, was the first thaught when i was looking at the sea at 7am this morning, sorry it was in the direction of where the sea should be if only i could see through the fog
I did the best thing i could think of :( then wiped the tears away and phoned Jim on North Star
Ok hear is what we where up against: Fog, Rain, Thunder and Lightning, a very big tide that was in the middle of changeing and to top it all i forgot me sarnies but all that is nothing cos the dreaded forcast  that thing that is set in gold and passed down from above directly to the MET OFFICE
Alright it was only forecasting slight or moderate, yep thats what it read :o and that is what it was, read on :):):) but you needed to to get over a mile past the bar to get to it.
Had a word with Jim and we both desided it was a "try our best" to get the lads/ lass out to the fish, it goes without saying, without putting anyone in danger.
We left the pontoon at 7.45 just ahead of Jim. The rain had stopped and the fog was starting to lift :):) half way up the channel the swell from the bar was starting to lift but not too bad.when we got just past the pier it was a bit jumpy to say the least but " its just the bar" We got about half maybe three qaters of a mile past the pier and still the same sea state, Jumpy:exclam:
Had a bit of a chat with the lads:
Its a bit jumpy lads but i still recon its the bar, the fog is lifting, the rain has stopped, we can see what is coming at us, nothing dangerous i think we should try a bit further out. Ok Berney was the cry, lets go:exclam:
so we did :) And this is some of what we got:

This was 8.30 this morning. After about one and a half miles out, the sea started to flaten off so the forcast was spot on, the Met can't forcast for local sandbars and the likes of.

We fished about 3 wrecks for not a lot of fish, about 8 cod, around 5 of them in the 7/8lb bracket then smaller, a few coley, nice size, 3lb mark, a 8lb ling plenty of mackerel and hounded by the chinese fish (Y Ting).
We ended up back in the dock at around 1.30 as the wind and waves started to lift, again, forcast was spot on:(:( slight or moderate going moderate at about lunch time).
Sorry you didn't get out Jim but it was quite lumpy on the way out and we where very close to turning back, so i can understand why the party decided to return to port. The lads on my boat (5 of them) have been going out with me for some time now so the confidence would be what swayed it i think.

Regards to all
PS
Forcast for tomorrow: Moderate ( to Who:rolleyes:) (compared to what:rolleyes:)
