To check tyres or not to check tyres....that is the question

me and me mate have been stopped from doin our tyres all to do with health and saftey because we cut through sum companys land and the boss says port of tyne dont want us doin tyres because the jetty next to tyres is unsafe
and ive been doin them for a log time and before that my father used to do them for bout 30 years now thats a bummer

A) some lads work full time and work hard to manage their own tyres and do their tyres fairly
b) a lot of people dig worm and take crab and claim jsa/is and sell the bait - i can think of 5 people straight away
c) in an ideal world people would only do their own traps and no more
d) some of the loudest and biggest mouths are also the biggest hypocrites: Having seen people from tynemouth club speak nothing but ill of people who do other peoples traps - then go and do other peoples traps themselves
e) crab is expensive and people with families and low incomes will always try an angle and cut corners
f) people who 'own' the traps often have big mouths threatening and 'reckoning' they will 'fill in' people who do their traps but they play a dangerous game here.

imagine an 'environmentalist' turned up, saying they were liberating the crab from these rubber gill nets - what would the trap owners do then?

Interesting situation, I doubt many would have the tact necessary to deal with it.

I need a couple for the front of my vx220 and they are bloody hard and expensive to get hold of!

yup thats the standard tyre size on the front, its the only car that uses that size and bridgestone are the only company that make the correct size tyres, hence why they take your eyes out for them.

The alternative is to squeeze some 195/55 tyres on which is not ideal or to fit wheels from a lotus elise which gives more tyre choice, this also requires the hubs to be changed though so is not cheap, also none standard wheels look cack on a vx

You have to love vauxhall- lotus design the chassis/suspension setup etc and reccommend the best wheel/tyre size (i believe 205/50/17 fronts and 235/50/18 rears) and yet vauxhall decide they know better and fit a completely pointless and expensive size whilst doing their best to ruin the handling. Good job lotus are so good.

not quite lotus had 16 inch wheels on the front and 17 rear, but as theres aguably more lotus content in a vx220 than in an elise then you cant really knock them.
