I have been reading some ov your comments lads and you say its to early would anyone be able to explain why and when is the right time and if I did go out now what kind of fish could I target on lures as really want to go out tomorrow. And test the new gear out this will be my first time lure fishing any body got a idea were I could go any were between seaham and hartelpool and the best method cheers lads. John

Its mainly down to water clarity and the lack of bait fish at this time of year. Alot of the fish we target are sight predators and if they can't see the lure your going to struggle. The second reason it what I call the fly fishing theory, fly fisherman use the frase 'match the hatch' meaning use a fly to match what the fish are feeding on, its the same with lures, when there's plenty of bait fish around and the fish are feeding on them, a lure that looks like a bait fish will fish well, if the fish are feeding on worms and smashed up muscles them you'll struggle. So if your going to head out, I would use jelly worms mate and fish for flatties, hard on the bottom fished very slow. The Coalie should start to take lures in the next month or so
