Tope trip

Many thanks to davem2005 for yesterdays trip.We targetted tope off Hartlepool on his boat.
Left H/pool low tide and went after mackerel for bait,they proved very elusive but we eventually got some,by this time we were about 8miles N of h/pool,so we found a bit of ground that might be suitable and anchored set up 2 tope rigs.30lb rods 6/0 hooks and makky bait put them out and then waited.Messed about bait fishing at anchor,did\'nt get a lot but enough to keep us occupied,and returned everything.
Hung around for a few hours then came back in.
A very good day weather wise,tope wise not so good,still as Dave said.There\'s always next summer.

Enjoyed the day out Tat and the company.

At least we tried, it just a shame about the results. Time to put the Tope plans on hold untill next year I think and get back to some more conventional fishing.
