Has anyone been up there lately? If so was the flow on and is there anything doing?

Going up Friday night hopefully the bass are still there, or maybe the caravan dwelling population have taken most? we shall see.

Any info most appreciated

friend fished there last week, all day he had 1 bass, very small and released using plugs, try using the white rubber sandeels approx 4 inches long with a long hook length prob length of your rod, from the controler float
theres a fishing shop in berwick that sells them,i always call in for a pack of them think there about 3.99 for 4 seem to work well for me or try some ragworm from the top if high water
better fishing there in the warmer months spring and after, but we have been this time of year and had some good sessions

turness is the big power staion just off the A1 north past berwick, when you see the sign for peas bay and cockburnpath (think thats what its called)
its about 1 mile further on ,cant miss it really as the power station is a massive grey nuclear building, thats where it is

thanks for that mate.

Nuclear power station....

Hot water outlet.....

Bass......

Now if there was ever a case for catch and release thats it...

Best use a two hook flapper...that way you can get a hook in both of the fishes mouths ;)

Torness is certainly a Bass nursery. There are one or two sized fish amongst them but the majority are undersize. A lot of the numpties that fish there kill everything and sell it to the Chineese restaraunts.

A couple of words of warning....

It is patrolled by fisheries protection and prosecutions have been made for the taking of undersize fish.

There are a few locals that think themselves above the law, they will stop at nothing, nets, the lot. They have been known to damage and vandalise cars left in the carpark if you get in there way or cross them.

Have fun if you go but keep an eye open around you. If you see anyone nailing undersize fish, report them..to the FPO on 018907 50203.

Neil.

Thanks for all the advice lads, i'll don my waders and fish the shelf, got my controller floats at the ready and will use fresh rag as it's done well up there in the past for me. I will let you know how I get on hopefully come away with some size bass.
