My TTRs and Eliminators are fishing rods.
I'm after a rod where I'll put the reel at the bottom and get some more lessons and practice.
I'm getting drawn to the zziplex range possibly the TXL.
This rod will also get used fishing for smoothhounds, tope, clean distance shots.

My TXL is there if you want it but i would just save your cash and just move all of your reel seats down and stick with it, it's no good chopping and changing. Don't forget to add a coaster so you can get a proper grip on the spool.

A new reel seat is way cheaper than a new rod!! Anyway eliminators have a slim butt so you will get away with the cheaper 26mm seats. It's double or treble the cost for a 28mm for a TTR though!!

A txl btw is not a clean ground rod!!

You might be able to move the existing reel seats without having to cut them off. I can try for you if you want.

i think the txl is much stiffer the ttr butts can be a bit numb and the eliminator butt a bit sof the txls i have used are not numb just mega stiff but grreat for a 7 or 8 oz lead but i wouldnt try to learn to cast with one as it will pull ya puddings out lol

Scot's not a novice and should be able to cast he just hasn't got a decent technique YET!!

Being 6ft 6 should help him to bend the rod though.

My mate Peter in the shot is on a 6oz lead. He is probably 12and a half stone and 5ft 11!!

Just got a 26mm fuji and it was too small for my eliminator.
