fished the walkway twice this week, lovely comfortable night fishing spot and plenty of bites both times. i was disappointed, however, to have picked up off the floor balls of discarded line literally big enough to fill a reel, both times. one still had a rig on the end, complete with hook.
there are bins along there closer than you can park your car, do people not understand how to use them or something? don't know if anyone has dogs here but untangling them from fishing line is no fun. plus it looks s**t and gives us all a bad name - if this is you, put your rubbish in the goddamn bin, please.
anyway at least i caught my first codling. shame about the rant. :)

Fished there many times & have come across the same problem & yet its got plenty of bins on the walkway. I spoke to one of the residents the last time I fished there & he is sick of complaining to the council. Mindless morons:mad:

Litter-Louts (or is it just 'Louts')

Here we gan again. Every year's the same. Complaining about the mindless scumbuckets that get sea-fishing a bad name.

They might be in a minority, but there's still hundreds of the b-----ds contaminating our coastal areas, piers and estuaries AND, now that the mackerel's gone, we can't blame it on 'mackerel-bashing kids'.

NO!, I'm afraid the culprits are bona-fide sea anglers AND, I don't blame residents at the likes of 'The Walkway' or 'St. Peter's Basin' for being up in arms at the way we behave.

This significant minority will eventually get fishing banned from many venues as they have in the past.

That's one of the reasons I love my fly-fishing so much - NEE LITTER!

Drof.

i was on there about 6 weeks ago and the kids who were down there just kept putting there rubbish on the floor ,so i telt them to pick it up and put it in the bins ,got a mouth full of cheak so i went and picked up his rubbish and put it in his fishing box he had with him ,he then put all his rubbish in bins ,little ****es,:(

nice articulate argument there mate, have to admit you've won me over and I will therefore just drop all my rubbish on the deck for the next mug to pick up...

So you're happy for these marks to get closed off to anglers because some numpty has dropped his s**t everwhere? which is what will happen.

It's called respect for those around you - which is sadly lacking these days it seems

you'd be surprised how many people look at this site that don't log in - if people keep saying it then it might sink into somebodys head mightn't it?

Same with macky bashing, the more people on here that say fishing with 12 daylites to catch em is less fun than the float or spinner then people will/do take notice

probs seen this off last year pic i took at ratty one morning after the night shift(or shud i say pigs) had been on

This is typical the semi-literate losers who perpetrate and support the desecration of our beaches, estuaries and piers.

They deserve to be ostricised by all GENUINE anglers.

After all they are more to be pitied.

Drof

I hate litter anywhere......however, I have met lots of anglers round here who are thick as mince and leaving their ***t everywhere is normal! I think there should be license that checks that these ***kers are accounted for. Leave your sh**e around....your license is revoked!

No, I can honestly say I havn't ever littered before, and I can't see how anyone thinks it's ok.. did your parents tell you to chuck your s**t on the floor when you were a kid? you know, those funny boxes with holes in the top are pretty handy for storing it, they're all over the place.
Have some self-respect.
Pleased most of us seem to be rational thinking adults though.

I agree with the license idea, if only to get control of the stupid litter louts and people lighting fires, then maybe opening up different places for us to fish?
I personally hate litter and see it everywhere by kids just dropping it out of their hands to adults throwing it out of car windows! My car may be a **it tip inside but its all my waste that eventually gets put in the BIN.
We have heard the views from rational people in this thread so why don't the litter idiots (who must also read this) give their opinion of why they think it is acceptable to be a lazy t*ss*r and spoil the environment for everyone? Come on litter idiots.....here is a challenge! :exclam:
