Trick or treat?

Just had the one knock at the door, couple of children from the next street with the parents, kids were all kitted out in the costumes, gave them a load of sweets, like you say graham stranglely quiet especially with it being a nice night

Our lass took the littleun to a party at Brownies and while they were out someone was too lazy to answer the door to the trick or treaters, so we ended up getting our front window egged :D

Still, I've now got a big bowl full of choccy bars :p

Keith you will have to tell your lass to be more considerate and leave someone in to answer the door for you mate lol.

Something similar here with loads of sweets left, they might even last till I start fishing again, that was what I was expecting to read in your post mate.;) :D :D :D :D

Jim.

non here also - may have something to do with the chocolate covered raw sprouts i gave them last year lol

One for us ,took loads of sweets into work last night for the lads and another lad did the same ,anyone think parents are scared to let the younger ones out these days ?

I wonder if it's anything to do with the hype that's been in the media in recent weeks about Councils/Police cracking down on "gangs" of kids causing mischief on Halloween

I dont think the kids are as interested these days,I probably agree with Steve as well, however you do see more parents tagging along in recent years. It was mentioned at work today and most people said the same, either non or just the odd one or two knocking on the doors.
Bit of a odd celebration when you look a bit deeper, same as November the 5th..........

Take my kids to my parents place in New Hartley every year, go around the neighbours there with the kids dressed up and most people were saying they'd had few or no kids knocking, mum only had two lads come to the door. We only take the kids to the houses that have stuff up, pumpkins & decorations, so that we know they're not pestering someone who isn't celebrating..

Probably had a half dozen or so all dressed in their costumes and I was pleased to see a parent supervising the bairns. Its too dodgey now-a-days for bairns to be trailing the streets by themselves.
Still had one little so and so who came back a couple of times.:D:D

:Dmy lass spent a fortune on chocolate nd that and was quite lookin forward to seeing some trick or treaters. After hours the door eventually went, she went running down with her tray of sweets only to find it was the milkman wanting £16 off her! Class.

No 2 son (14 years old and 15 foot tall) came in and proudly announced he had made £2.63. No costume and no tattie lantern. I told the little extortionist it was being docked from his wages. I have informed the tax credit people of this change in circumstance lest they send us a free horse or something. We are still getting over having to send back the African Grey Parrot we were awarded when we made our first claim - oh and the £8,000.
