Just returned from a short trip to the Flat Rock at Balcary, pretty much short and sweet, weather was evil, onshore wind and a combination of heavy rain or drizzle with the odd dry patch (at most five minutes spells ) as for the fishing Dogs,Dogs and more Dogs the highlight of our three hour session was a Nice Coalfish of 3lb 6oz to Gary (Spongebob) but conditions beat us this time as the Sea was picking up all the time so we called it a Day.

Thats a stonking Coalie well done mate. shame the weather didn't play ball for you, especially after driving all that way but at least a fish like that goes some way to making it all worthwhile

Lol I a think they taste as bad as they smell . A quick weigh and photo and of she went...never said thanks or nothing lol

I remember you getting a coalie like that onthe northy about 20 years ago

Sorry m8 but am not who you think I am;)

Was aimed at me that one I think. You've got a good memory Kev as that was way back in 1989. IIRC mine was about 3lb off the north drum casting about 10 yards with a little spinning rod, was in a club comp, fishing next to John Lovett. I was pulling in the coalies on ragworm while nothing was touching his crab. My fish won me the match and the kit-kat off John and was also the club record for a while.
