Turbot Delight

my mate stu and i fished druridge bay yesterday for a bit of scratching session from 12 till 5.30pm struggled for bites the first 2 hours of the tide dropping then when the sand bars started to show fish started to play stu got the first flounder out 33cm,s

then a while later he was onto hes 2nd fish another flounder but a bit smaller

he had a nice grin on hes boat race with hes sucess 2-0 up ,thats it i thought change rig tactics soon has it went out bites straight away this fella turned up to pull it back to 2-1 :D

then again on other rod another 2-2 :D

it was tw@ts turn again into another small flounder :( 3-2

then i also had a smaller flounder god knows where that pic went did he take it or didnt he thats the question :( 3-3

then a got me madest mad up and pulled in a double shot of turbot 5-3 :o

then last cast before home yes ya guessed another turbot 6-3 :D

stu did manage a turbot on hes last cast a thought it was a leaf lol

a good bit of fun but all in all not a bad day out 5 turbots and a flounder for me 3 flounders and a turbot for stu well im assuming they are turbots undersize but first for me anyways fish took ragworm and bluey tipped baits all fish returned :D

well done on catching, sounds a good fun seshion :)

i caught my first turbot if they are turbots same size as your m8s small one at seaton sluice beach afew month ago. its was tinny and had swallowed a big 2/0 hook! duno how though...
 
Good stuff Trevor looks like a canny day was toying with the idea of warkworth. Nice looking fish the turbots much better than flounders enjoyed the report n pics mate:)

you be surprised how big there mouths opens they certain enjoyed the bluey bait

i would anarl loverly coloured fish when returning them they very camoflauged against the sand texture in the water

Nice1 strange to see a few caught in one day...got me wanting to go and catch one now to add to my list of species :)

Rich, fish those Northumberland beaches at the right time and you'll often hit them a few at a time.

Reminder for people the size limit is 35cm if I'm not mistaken.
 
get ya self out man nee good sitting in the house whinging is there after all its only a bit sport and any fish or a new fish is a bonus but looking at most reports theres hasnt been many first time out in 3 weeks for me and i enjoyed it :)

aye and you had a crackin session mate;) welldone on the turbot :)
 
ive been told the best months for better stamp of turbot up northumberland way is october till november im just pleased a found a nice part of the beach to give them a try later :)
