Fished this morning 5.00am till 7.30am with light spinning gear.

Second cast caught this coalfish (or pollock? not sure, think its probably a coalie though) about 40cm ish:



Didn't catch anything else until 7am when I caught this mackerel :



Had great fun with the light gear. Kept the mackerel to eat, the coaly went back to fight another day.

If your ever stuck for identifying pollack and coalie, the lateral line that runs from head to tail is how you tell. Pollocks have a kink in them, coalie a are streight from head to tail
