Not fished the Tyne yet, any advice on marks would be helpful,
lookin for a mark with a car park near, was looking at
the one next to Brett oils' is it any good?
Thanks in advance.
If you go past the entrance road leading to Bill Quay Farm and continue to the bottom of the street, a right turn brings you to 'The Albion' pub.
Park outside and walk along the lane for about 200 yards where you will see three railings missing on the left. This lets you in to the old 'Harrisons Shipyard'. The concrete wharves and jetties are still there and it produces quite a few decnt fish every Winter.
The high shore just east of the Royal Quays marina is a decent mark too. I can't walk far but can manage this mark ok, have seen quite a few fish taken from there too.
Careful where you park if you fish the 'High Shore' after dark. There's been quite a bit of car crime at the top of the hill.
Your best bet is to drive down past 'Royal Quays' and the ferry terminal and park in the 'Earl of Zetland' car park. It's then just a short walk over the lock gates to the High Shore.
