Tyne not the only place with muppets

Went to Amble pier on Sunday. Not a single bite, let alone a fish. Use this venue so all the family can enjoy the fishing and sunshine, not really a serious pm out.

Now.....I can put up with the fishing boats and the pleasure craft, after all it is a busy little port and it pays for the pier upkeep. However, some real idiot on a jetski (pillion a rather orange woman, I think the tan was washing off as they travelled) came along the harbour at around 25 mph (plus) and then proceeded to wave ride the wakes of the other boats and generally being a complete (s)prat.

No consideration for other boats or the many anglers on the pier. Of note there were two inflatables using the designated area beyond the staithes with not bother, and they were sticking to the speed limit.

Whatever happended to enforcement?

The saga ended with what could have been a very nasty accident (but was a bit funny at the time). Anglers had been waiting paitently to recast after 3/4 boats passing when said jetski idiot decided to race the length of the pier just as someone cast. Nearly knecked the skier with his line....took the smile of his stupid face though!

A nice quiet time out with the family ruinded by an idiot.

PS Good craic with two lads fishing at Beadnell Point on Saturday. Thanks for the useful tips and advice. That is the good side of fishing

It's one of those thing where it'll take someone being killed before anything is done! Anti-social behaviour is being clamped down on in so many areas, but it seems that on the water is not one of them! They are usually a menace.
