took my nephew for his first fishing trip tonite I got held up at work and when I got in the car and looked at my phone I had 7 missed calls off him anyway got to the tyne about 6,30 the plan was to fish light with spinning rods to let him feel the fish he was first in closely followed by me the nite ended 6 :7 to me thanks to a very small whiteling on my last cast . good nite again and good crack even if he never shut up for three hrs the only time I got some peace was when a bit of drift wood that looked like a crocodile came past

good to get them interested young eh....or mebe's not! he'll o loved it, six fish.......haven't managed that many in me last couple o outins where bouts did ya fish, my son (six) wants to come with me, and i need somewhere safe ish, with easy access for the car etc nice pics by the way

dicky i can recommend fishing the ouseburn part of the tyne go along city road heading towards walker turn 1st right after the bridge (opp the old school) then right again park beside the pub & hotel its free then a short walk down to the river ( can be snaggy) or drive along the quayside heading west when you get past the copthorn hotel turn left on to skinnerburn road follow that untill the 1st left turn into a car park its next to a jetty (high tide only ) , i fish them with my daughter and they normally produce fish , hope this helps

try st peters basin aways take my kids its safe,and aways get a few fish just by droping line a few feet out,u can park car right on path and fish from car if it rains,and its got street lights up to so its not that dark kids love it
