Headed down to tynemouth yesterday after picking up some excellent bait from Frasers went straight to the end as there was nobody else on as it was still early. The wind was howling around the round head casting wasn't a problem as the wind was on your back a nice northerly accompanied with a big tide has me thinking positive and within in an hour I had landed my 1st codling about 1.5lb then put of no where 9 more lads had turned up to fish the round end.
I had a few more bites and 20 mins later a nice slack liner which resulted in a codling about 2-2.5lb
2 more chucks and again another slack liner but when I hit it I was stuck solid and lost the fish and half a spool of line. Called it a night at 10pm as I have to get the metro and bus back home, was a very enjoyable night once the wind died down. Around 7pm there was one hell of a rain cloud and luckily it just missed tynemouth pier.
Baits used lug and mussel. Pretty sure I would of taken more fish had I not had to leave
