anyone stripped one of these down? and is it easy?
one of mine sounds and feels a bit rough and was wanting a look inside,
i started to break it down and got stuck at the stage in the pic, as to what order it should come apart next ?......any ideas?
i've never stripped a fixed spool before
If its like the other shimano reels then its pretty straightforward have you unscrewed the small hidden screw in back of reel housing? The anti reverse bearing unit,(black round case on front) is all in a oner dont take that apart!! Lol . The only thing you need to check is when replacing worm gear the main gear is square! There is 2 arrow heads that need to align in order for the line lay to work..does that make sense? Lol
I have the reel but as with any fixed spool I would not even try as wouldnt know where to start, scared of a blow up.
If your wanting it done professionally I had a FS reel repaired + serviced at ID tackle Newcastle for a few quid and it was brilliantly done aswell I was well happy.
