Ultralight cranks

Haven`t been on for a while so thought I`d share these baits I`ve been making recently. These were made for myself, not for stock to sell, so I`m presuming it`s ok to post the pics. Been restocking my box with tiny cranks for the Summer. I`m really getting into these tiny baits, especially for the variety of species they tempt. They`re all around 1.5", 2-3g in weight....

I fish all these on UL baitcasting gear for Perch, Pike, Chub and Trout....great fun and hardly any weight to carry when roaming the banks ....roll on the Summer!! :D

They look great Mark, the shape and finish will have the fish queuing up to take them. Do you need to go ultralight with the line too, to cast them any distance?

What set up do you use to cast them with Mark?

As for roll on the summer, I'm a bit gutted the pike season has come to an end. I suppose there's always Scotland and some lure sessions to look forward to.

Jim/ Kevin, I mostly use various short UL pistol grip rods, rated around 1-8g, and a variety of reels most of them old ones - Ryobi V-Mag 3`s, Shimano Bantams and a couple of cheapo low profiles all tuned for casting light baits.
If I`m not expecting any decent sized Pike, I go down to 6-8lb mono. Where there`s a chance of a good Pike, 12lb mono or 16lb YGK braid - the soft rods virtually eliminate any line breakages on fish, while still allowing me to give them a bit of stick if need be. Mono casts way better with UL lures on baitcasting gear - braid creates a lot of drag as it crosses the spool when casting, and cuts distance down quite a bit...as an example, with the little V-Mag 3 reels, 25yds with a 2g crank isn`t impossible :)

A few of my UL setups below - the 2 yellow rods are Eagle Claw glass UL baitcasters with V-Mag 3 reels. The other rod`s built from 2 sections of a 12ft freshwater float rod.

Those look great piker, cracking job.
Do you make n sell them?
If you sell them do you have a price list?

Cheers Brian

Top lures again Piker. Can't wait for the water to warm up a bit so I can throw mine at Mr Bass. PS thanks for the advice on running depths on the other thread.
