Fished by the coppthorn only went out to use up the bait from Sundays sesh on shields pier which ended in a blank with six sets of gear lost.got to the coppthorn for7.30pm fished till 10.45pm the wind was strong for the first hour but this didn't stop the fish. Had seven in total four flounder My first cod this year and two whiting all but one whiting were under sized.all under sized fish went back safe and sound.kept one whiting around the pound mark.bait was rag mussle Mackie and squid had no lug left used all at some ss pier

Aye Mate,
The upper tyne in full of small stuff with the old 2-3 lbs, watched a lad down the bunk on the Gateshead side hitiing 2 at a time on a flapper rig, he could hardly put the rod down, but all small stuff. At least you had some sport.

Well done mate , the river seems to be the most consistent at the mo , it's holding some good fish , going to have a dodge down the morra neet .

Fished the Tyne for a couple of hours last night 2 rods single hook with frozen crab and had 7 fish with the biggest being 27cm! It's like coarse fishing at the moment.
