Got out with some pals from West Yorks today on Mistress with my mate Pierro.
Day was lovely at first and fishing was steady away with most people getting knocks and the odd fish. As the morning wore on into the afternoon the wind got up making waves and fishing very hard work.
After wind, rain and sun it was time to come in at 3.30 pm. I had half a dozen small codling at about 2lb each (released half of these which were lip hooked) and half a dozen Pouting.
There was a few decent fish brought in but no great size-all in all a very hard day to fish. Full marks to Richie and his mate Deano for trying thier best for us.
Best fish of the day was 8 1/2 pound cod caught on Paul Kirkpatricks boat Sea Otter. Lad who caught it got £100 prize for biggest fish of festival day one.
Tight lines Mick.
