i was browseing fleabay the other neet and notice you can buy some vacuum sealed baits for 4.99 you get sandeels and rag they are sealed in brine and the seller says that they keep for 3 months unopened in tackle box anyone tryed anything like this and do they work.

I would tend to avoid anything like that. You are much better off using fresh baits. There are also plenty of good baits that you can buy frozen and keep in your freezer. Crab, Runnydown,Mussel, Razorfish and Clam to name but a few. Get a good mixture of them and you can go out fishing without having to go to your local tackle shop in an emergency (Coronation st and Eastenders lol).

As Jim says theres plenty of proven bait available that is frozen, other than crab you can carry on re-freezing these baits and often work better the second, third time around, just remember to repack it carefully as it gets a bit smelly, use a couple of freezer bags, get someone with clean hands to hold your final bag and your freezer should\'nt be to smelly, alternatively use a old freezer in your garage/shed for storing baits

you\'ll save a fortune by stocking up on frozen bait, only defrost what you require and use a suitable container or freezer bag,a wide mouth vacuum flask is ideal for crab baits.
