hope this helps.
if you come up the spine road heading towards ashington take the slip road for cambois, its the second one after the blyth slip road. when you get to top of slip road turn left at junction, follow road for about 3/4 mile then take your next right, follow road crossing the railway crossing, keep on same road. after passing some houses the road makes a sharp right. if you drive a little further you will see the valde burn factory on the right you should be able to get parked somewhere allong there on the grass on the left and be able to find the pipe from there i think.

have fished sandy bay a few times with flatties to show but not the valde burn pipe, used to fish the power station pipe untill it became ilegal to fish after a young lad drown then when the power satation closed it was demolished. it used to be a cracking mark for mullet and bass but they were the good old days.

Here's an alternative route to Valburn from the one Mark sent you, very similar.
Cross the bridge spanning the river Blyth, the first left heads to Bedlington Station, ignore that and carry on up the spine road and take the next sliproad for Cambois. At the top of the slip road turn right and follow the road all the way down until you come to the second mini round a bout. Turn left and follow the road, you will pass a school on the left hand side then cross railway lines and about a couple of hundred yards or so you will see Valburns.
There are some parking spots overlooking the beech/sea, the pipe is slightly South of Valburns.
Either Marks route or this one will get you there.
This spot is mainly fished in the winter when a good sea is running as there is normally a couple of good "holes".

Over the years I have caught a few good sized Flounders fishing over low water in daylight just to the left (north) of the pipe. Have had nowt from the other side of it though - don't know why! Easy fishing and parking - a nice beach to fish from. As a rule of thumb - if nothing is happening, move up or down the beach a bit.
